Success Secrets for Achieving Short and Long-term Goals
 Our success secrets are only a secret if we fail to share them. If we fail to share, then we are not following one of the habits of highly effective and successful people. We must always be willing to give back. If a person constantly strives to have more, whether it is for more money, more power or more education, you might see that person as greedy. But, think about it. Isn’t a greedy person someone that does not share? In this case, we are talking about someone that does not share what he or she knows? Once the real secret of wealth and happiness was discovered, those who were aware of it attempted to share it with everyone that they knew. It’s just that some people aren’t receptive. Some people don’t believe in the secret. It seems too simple. But, it is really a matter of universal law; like attracts like. Birds of a feather flock together. Don’t they? That saying is sometimes used to refer to people that are “crooks”, but it is relevant in this context, as well. Successful people enjoy being around other successful people. One of the success secrets that I learned early on was to stay away from negative people. They emit negative energy that brings you down. Their negative energy attracts negative things. You must have known people that always seemed to be the victim of one bad thing or another. Now, we can’t blame someone for becoming ill, unless they knew that their lifestyle was what caused their illness. There shouldn’t be anyone left on the planet that does not know smoking is bad for you. Yet, millions of people continue to smoke. It’s difficult to feel pity for them if they become ill. One of the success secrets that was shared with me and that I have shared with others is the importance of being grateful. If you only count the things that are wrong in your life, those things will continue to happen. If, on the other hand, you make a change and begin counting your blessings, then you will start to see more good things happen to you. One of the other keys is to give. You don’t have to give money. You can give time. If you see a homeless person begging on the street, you can offer to buy them a value meal from McDonald’s. If they turn that down, then there’s no need to feel guilty about not giving them the money they asked for. There are dozens of other success secrets that people have learned over the years.
